Sweden Unveils First Anti-Drone Missile

Swedish defence company Saab has introduced its first missile purpose-built to counter the growing threat posed by unmanned aerial systems. The new weapon, named Nimbrix, has been designed to target and neutralise small drones on the battlefield.

Nimbrix operates on a “fire-and-forget” principle, with an engagement range of up to five kilometres. Saab explained that its warhead uses an airburst detonation system, allowing it to effectively destroy swarms of drones.

The missile can function independently or be integrated into a wider air defence network, giving it flexibility across different operational scenarios.

According to Saab, the system has also been developed with cost-efficiency in mind—an essential factor given the widespread and increasing use of drones in modern conflicts.
