As Southeast Asia continues to face a shifting security landscape, Thailand is employing its strategic location and growing defence capabilities to secure its position as a centre of innovation, cooperation and stability in the region.
With its geography linking the Indian and Pacific Oceans and proximity to the vital Strait of Malacca, Thailand stands as a gateway for global trade and a cornerstone of maritime security in Asia.
Its active membership in ASEAN and reputation as a stable logistics hub further strengthen its role as a preferred partner for regional and international collaboration in security, disaster response, and defence.
On the military front, Thailand maintains a versatile, multi-role armed force with strong international ties, actively contributing to peacekeeping, counterterrorism, and maritime security. In parallel, its defence industry has steadily expanded through investments in research and development, partnerships for advanced manufacturing, and production of armoured vehicles, drones, and naval platforms.
Against this backdrop, Bangkok is preparing to host the 12th edition of the ASEAN Defense & Security Exhibition (Defense & Security 2025), scheduled for 10–13 November 2025 at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre. Under the theme “Power of Partnership”, the event will showcase cutting-edge defence technologies while serving as a global meeting point for governments, armed forces, and defence industries.
Southeast Asia’s Leading Defence Platform
Defense & Security 2025 is the region’s largest defence and security exhibition, fully supported by the Royal Thai Ministry of Defence and the Thai Armed Forces. Held biennially, the exhibition has evolved into a strategic platform for decision-makers, military leaders, and industry experts worldwide.
Unprecedented International Participation
The 2025 edition will see record participation, with over 580 companies from 45 countries and 28 national pavilions. More than 500 high-level delegations, including defence ministers, chiefs of staff, and senior military officials from over 30 nations, are expected to attend. The exhibition is also set to welcome 25,000+ professionals from 60 countries, reinforcing its position as a premier international defence gathering.
These figures exceed those of the 2023 edition, which hosted 565 exhibitors from 40 countries, 25 national pavilions, over 23,500 visitors, and 282 delegations. That success was marked by new product launches, strategic agreements, and long-term partnerships, paving the way for an even larger and more influential 2025 edition.
Bangkok’s IMPACT Centre, with over 100,000 sqm of exhibition space and proximity to both the Armed Forces Headquarters and Suvarnabhumi International Airport, provides a strategically located venue capable of hosting high-profile events. It reaffirms the exhibition’s ability to attract leading companies and high-level delegations, supported by world-class logistical and security standards.
Showcasing the Future of Defence and Security
Defense & Security 2025 will feature a comprehensive showcase of advanced systems spanning land, sea, air, space, and cyber domains. Exhibits include:
Next-generation weapons systems, missiles, tanks, and rifles
Armoured vehicles, naval craft, and unmanned aerial systems
Satellites, communication technologies, and electronic warfare tools
Homeland security solutions such as surveillance systems, riot-control gear, body armour, and cyber defence platforms
Particular emphasis will be placed on future-focused domains, including unmanned systems, space technologies, counterterrorism solutions, disaster management tools, and advanced cyber defence. This reflects Thailand’s recognition of evolving security threats, ranging from conventional warfare to cyber and space-based challenges. It also highlights the country’s ambition to remain at the forefront of regional defence innovation.
Through the exhibition, Thailand seeks to foster international cooperation, promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and connect manufacturers with decision-makers to address the evolving needs of armed forces and security institutions across the region.
Dynamic Programs and Live Demonstrations
Beyond exhibitions, Defense & Security 2025 offers a rich program of interactive activities. Static displays and live demonstrations, organised with the Thai Ministry of Defence, will highlight real-world operational capabilities. More than 20 international conferences and seminars will bring together experts to discuss pressing regional and global security issues, opportunities for defence cooperation, and advancements in military technology.
Additionally, the event offers extensive networking opportunities, bilateral meetings, and VIP gatherings, all designed to foster collaboration among governments, armed forces, and private industry. A dedicated business matching program will connect leading manufacturers with component suppliers, laying the foundation for future contracts and long-term partnerships.
A Strategic Platform for Innovation and Defence Cooperation
Defense & Security 2025 reflects Thailand’s ambition to consolidate its position as a leading regional and international hub in the fields of defence and security. The exhibition brings together a comprehensive showcase of the latest systems, opportunities for commercial and technological collaboration, live demonstrations, and strategic networking between decision-makers and experts.
The broad diversity of participants—from global defence companies to high-level delegations—combined with a strong focus on future technologies, underscores the exhibition’s ability to keep pace with rapid shifts in the international security environment.
Through this edition, Thailand reaffirms its ability to leverage its strategic geographic position and supportive institutional framework to become a vital platform for knowledge exchange, strategic partnerships, and strengthened cooperation between armed forces and security institutions at both regional and global levels. In doing so, the exhibition stands as a successful model of integration between innovation and defence diplomacy.
