US defence firm Oshkosh has announced the integration of the HIMARS missile system onto its ROGUE-Fires (Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires) vehicle platform.
Originally developed to support land-based anti-ship missile operations, the ROGUE-Fires system has been adapted for multiple control modes, including remote operation, follow-me driving, and autonomous navigation. This design reduces the need for personnel to operate in high-risk environments, enhancing safety and operational efficiency.
Described as a next-generation solution for high-threat areas, the ROGUE-Fires platform offers last-mile delivery and resupply capabilities. It is also adaptable for both direct and indirect fire missions, further expanding its battlefield versatility.
The US Marine Corps continues to assess the long-term applications of the ROGUE-Fires system as part of broader force modernisation efforts and ongoing joint force development initiatives.
