HENSOLDT Secures Major Contracts for European Sky Shield Initiative

As the pace of advanced rearmament accelerates across Europe, German defence company HENSOLDT has announced major orders of over €100 million for the supply of radar systems to several European countries. The contracts are a part of the German-led European Sky Shield Initiative, which aims to establish an integrated and unified air defence umbrella to protect European airspace against growing threats.

At the centre of these orders is the TRML-4D radar, regarded as one of the most advanced medium-range ground-based radar systems currently in service. The system is based on active electronically scanned array (AESA) technology using gallium nitride, providing exceptional capability to detect and track targets with extremely small radar cross-sections.
