The French Army has officially welcomed the MEPAC, a highly advanced 6×6 self-propelled mortar carrier, into its artillery forces. Designed to provide mobile and effective fire support on the battlefield, MEPAC is a crucial addition to France’s modernised military capabilities.
Developed as part of the French Scorpion programme, which aims to enhance operational effectiveness, MEPAC combines firepower, mobility, and protection. Weighing 24.5 tonnes, the vehicle is built to operate in diverse combat environments, offering superior all-terrain manoeuvrability and robust defensive features.
MEPAC is equipped with a state-of-the-art 120mm mortar system, capable of delivering rapid and precise artillery support. Additionally, it features a remotely operated weapon station fitted with a 7.62mm machine gun, enhancing its defensive capabilities.
