US-based defence technology firm Epirus has delivered its new ExDECS (Expeditionary Directed Energy Counter-swarm System) to the Naval Surface Warfare Centre for evaluation by the United States Marine Corps.
ExDECS is a high-power microwave (HPM) system designed to neutralise hostile drone swarms and enhance low-altitude air defence (LAAD) capabilities. Built to support expeditionary operations, the system is engineered for integration with light tactical vehicles, trailers, and other mobile platforms.
At the core of ExDECS is a software-defined, solid-state HPM technology that leverages long-pulse Gallium Nitride (GaN) architecture. Its modular design ensures scalability, operational flexibility, and adaptability across a range of deployment scenarios.
