EDGE Group has successfully completed major development phases for its MIRSAD-X electro-optical system during field trials at the “X” multi-domain training and evaluation range. The system demonstrated advanced capabilities in target detection, recognition, and identification under diverse operational conditions, alongside efficient sensor management, tracking, localisation, and human-machine interaction.
Programme officials highlighted the system’s high reliability in the UAE’s hot and humid climate. They confirmed that the trials achieved stable optical performance, as well as both manual and automated tracking, with plans underway to conduct laser-specific tests and dynamic trials once the system is integrated onto a land platform.
MIRSAD-X is being developed to support surveillance and precision-guided munitions, with a naval variant currently under development.
