Chinese military sources have revealed the ZTZ201, a new medium tank that combines conventional armoured warfare features with next-generation technologies. Developed to meet the evolving requirements of the People’s Liberation Army, the hybrid design equips the vehicle to face modern battlefield challenges.
The ZTZ201 has been engineered for lightness and mobility, making it easier to transport and deploy across diverse combat environments, including difficult terrain where heavier tanks struggle to operate. It features a low-profile hull and an unmanned turret, enhancing crew protection while reducing its visibility to enemy targeting systems.
Armament includes a 105 mm main gun capable of firing armour-piercing rounds, complemented by an integrated anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) launcher, providing versatile firepower against both armoured and fortified targets.
