Spanish Company Indra Unveils Next-Generation Radar System

Spanish defence firm Indra has unveiled a new counter-battery radar system featuring active electronically scanned array (AESA) technology and GaN modules, capable of detecting, tracking, and precisely locating projectile launch sites within seconds.

The system can be rapidly deployed on light or medium vehicles, offering “shoot-and-scoot” capabilities, and integrates seamlessly with command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) networks to enable immediate retaliatory strikes. It can track hundreds of targets at ranges of up to 50 kilometres, enhancing active force protection while reducing dependence on US systems.

Indra expects the new radar to set new standards for defence procurement, drive the development of integrated operational packages, and intensify global competition in radar technology.
