Mohamed Al Kuwaiti: The UAE’s Cybersecurity Readiness Aligns with the Nation’s Future-Focused Vision

As part of the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025, H.E. Dr Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, participated in a dedicated session addressing the current state of cybersecurity in the country and its central role in supporting the UAE’s transition toward becoming an AI-driven nation.

During the session, Dr Al Kuwaiti highlighted the UAE’s rapid advancements in cybersecurity and the nationwide efforts to build a secure and advanced digital ecosystem that aligns with the country’s forward-looking ambitions in artificial intelligence and safe digital transformation.

He noted that the accelerating pace of global technological change has introduced new and complex challenges, underscoring the need to strengthen cyber resilience and empower national talent capable of managing emerging threats. Dr Al Kuwaiti also reviewed the latest technologies and trends shaping the field, along with the continuous innovations that form the foundation of future digital security.

National Cybersecurity Strategy

Dr Al Kuwaiti presented the UAE’s National Cybersecurity Strategy, outlining its core pillars designed to enhance readiness across institutions and individuals. He emphasised the importance of adhering to national cybersecurity policies and standards as a fundamental guarantee for the sustainability of digital development and for safeguarding the country’s critical infrastructure.

He further stressed the importance of instilling a national culture of cybersecurity and raising awareness of data and information protection as a shared responsibility that preserves the UAE’s digital achievements and reinforces its vision of becoming a global model in cyber safety and technological innovation.

Cybersecurity at the Heart of the UAE’s AI Transformation

Dr Al Kuwaiti underscored that the UAE’s shift toward becoming an AI-powered nation is not merely a technological milestone but a strategic transformation grounded in innovation, knowledge, and digital preparedness. At the core of this transformation, he said, lies cybersecurity—an essential enabler of trust in the country’s digital systems and a protector of national data and vital infrastructure.

He affirmed that cybersecurity is no longer optional; it is a national duty and a collective responsibility shared by all sectors and individuals to ensure that the UAE’s digital space remains among the safest and most stable in the world.

Dr Al Kuwaiti stated: “Under the guidance of our wise leadership, the UAE is working to build a secure digital environment that strengthens innovation and supports our transition into a globally leading AI nation—one capable of anticipating challenges and shaping a prosperous and secure digital future for generations to come.”
