The Spanish defence industry has introduced the Alpha A900, a next-generation vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designed for a wide range of maritime and land-based missions.
Weighing approximately 25 kilograms and powered by an internal combustion engine, the Alpha A900 offers up to four hours of flight time and can carry a payload of up to 4 kilograms. It features fully autonomous take-off and landing capabilities, even on moving platforms—making it especially well-suited for naval operations and dynamic field environments.
Equipped with cutting-edge technologies, the Alpha A900 boasts electromagnetic interference protection, GPS-denied navigation capabilities, and an encrypted communications system to ensure mission security in contested or signal-degraded environments. The UAV also includes an integrated 150-watt generator for onboard systems, a laser altimeter, navigation lights, and emergency landing and flotation systems to enhance safety and reliability during critical operations.
