Pakistan is set to launch its first domestically designed and constructed frigate from the “Wing” class, marking a significant step in the country’s efforts to modernise its navy and achieve greater self-reliance.
The warship is set for launch soon, adding advanced capabilities to the Pakistani fleet.
The Wing class has been designed for multi-role operations and will be equipped with next-generation sensors, weapon systems, and domestically-developed supersonic SMASH missile systems.
Designed to perform a range of combat roles, including surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, and air defence, this Wing-class frigate is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening Pakistan’s naval defence, further enhancing its versatility and operational readiness.
