The month of Ramadan comes to remind us of the builder of our renaissance and our founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God have mercy on him,” who spared no effort to give generously for the sake of human dignity and safety. The late Sheikh Zayed was able to leave behind a humane and giving footprint for his citizens who followed his steps. This is exemplified by a leader who made the impossible, and people who were not satisfied with his qualities, but called themselves “Zayed’s children” in word and deed.
The blessed month of Ramadan is an opportunity for all of us to exert efforts for the sake of good and gain a reward, as the reward is doubled in Ramadan, and the reward from God is acceptable, so we have to make our efforts in this month, and leave high-class human and charitable imprints that have their rewards in the long run.
Those moments take me to remember the words of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “May God rest his soul,” when he said: “I cannot sleep, and there is a needy nation waiting for me to help.” Yes, these are the white hands whose good is spread across the nation, and expanded to reach the whole world, how much good to this day in the name of Zayed Al-Khair. Just think how many cities were named after Sheikh Zayed, may God Almighty have mercy on him. The best example is represented by our loyal leaders who did not leave an imprint but put it on the pages of history. The good of the Emirates and its relief reached all parts of the world. So, how about those who reside on its land … you see them today unwilling to leave the land of good and giving, because they witnessed tolerance, cooperation and love mixed with goodness, generosity and coexistence. These are the original meanings and values in our Emirates and its loyal people. Ramadan is a perfect example of this cohesion and harmony between members of society. So, you see everyone hastening in goodness and promoting it, and you see initiatives that do not spare time until they reach those who deserve them. Some of us donate money, and some of us offer by volunteering, and some others offer their prayers, and we are all in the same boat, guiding to goodness, and we all follow the path of those who guided us to the path of goodness and happiness is our way. So, congratulations for us on Ramadan. Congratulations for us on our wise leadership, and may God have mercy on those who have been absent from us with their bodies, but their good deeds and memories remained to this day. So, may God protect the UAE, State of good and benevolence, and grant it security, safety and stability.
