The painstaking efforts coupled with the hard work done by the UAE people under the directives of the wise leadership have led to successive milestones and breakthroughs, the latest of which is becoming the fifth country in the world and the first Arab nation to reach Mars’ orbit, in addition to developing industries that Arabs had always dreamed of. These landmark achievements would not have been possible had it not been for the country’s prudent leadership that spared no effort to conquer the impossible.
The UAE today boasts a state-of-the-art infrastructure that provides solid foundations for success on all levels. Thus, it is no surprise to see mega-events and exhibitions being held in the country despite the global pandemic, which proved the UAE’s ability to professionally handle crises.
The international exhibitions held over the past months reflects an undeniable fact. It shows how the UAE can professionally organize global events while strictly adhering to health and safety measures. For example, IDEX, the only international defence exhibition and conference in the MENA region, attracted 900 companies from 60 countries to the capital, showcasing their latest AI-based innovations in the weapons industry, defense technologies, security, radar and air defense systems through 35 pavilions.
Meanwhile, the showcased naval units participating in Navdex 2021 total 17 from 10 countries, which include minesweepers, missile boats, patrol boats, landing crafts, rescue boats, destroyers and frigates, as well as the latest coastal security systems and marine telecommunication solutions.
It goes without saying that the real achievement was in the number of Emirati arms manufacturers taking part in such events. Those companies have witnessed a great development in recent years despite their young age and successfully drawn international attention, becoming a favoured destination for those looking to purchase armoured vehicles, light weapons, helicopters and drones among others.
Last December, GITEX in Dubai displayed the latest innovations in the world of technology, bringing together more than 1,200 innovative tech enterprises, startups, government entities, major international companies specialized in communications and information technology, fifth-generation, artificial intelligence, future mobility, digital economies, and cybersecurity.
Sharjah was no exception. The Emirate’s International Book Fair last November attracted 1,024 publishers from 73 nations around the world, showcasing more than one million books by Arab and foreign publishers and projects by more than 60 writers, writers and thinkers.
The UAE, thanks to the diversity of its exhibitions and expertise across many fields, has become an engine for international development, and a destination for those looking towards the future with optimism and determination.
