US Air Force publishes a photo of the new B-21 Raider stealth bomber

The US Air Force has released the third official image of its futuristic B-21 Raider stealth fighter, and an initial testing of these bombers is set to begin after its maiden flight, which is currently expected to take place in May 2022.

“Nuclear modernization is a top priority for the Department of Defense and the Air Force, and the B-21 is key to that plan,” said the director of the Air Force’s Office of Rapid Capabilities. A feature built into the B-21’s open architecture system makes the bomber effective as the threat environment evolves. The aircraft’s design approach will put the USA on the right track to ensure enduring U.S. Air Force capability.

The most striking detail in this new image is the composition of the windshield, which differs markedly from that seen in previous artists’ perceptions of the B-21.

As for the cost, the cost of each unit is approximately $673 million. ِ
