The US successfully tests the supersonic AGM-183A ARRW missile

The US Air Force has successfully tested the AGM-183A ARRW hypersonic missile, which managed to achieve its primary and secondary objectives, paving the way for more complex tests later this year.

The previous successful test of the AGM-183A ARRW was in May of this year, when the missile was reported to have reached a speed of Mach 5 (five times the speed of sound).

The AGM-183A ARRW missile is being developed in response to similar moves in Russia and China.

The B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers will be the first to receive the hypersonic missile, which has a maximum speed of 24,695 km/h, and there are plans to equip it to the promising strategic bombers B-21 Raider.
