Russia retrofits the “Tiger” nuclear submarine with new missiles

The Russian Ministry of Defense is equipping the versatile K-154 nuclear submarine, AKA “Tiger”, with new weapons as a part of an ongoing retrofit process.

The long-range winged Kalibr missiles will be among the most important weapons equipped to the submarine, and after the completion of the retrofit, the submarine will return to service in the Northern Fleet in the Russian Navy by the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

This submarine can move at a speed of 30 knots, dive to a depth of 600 underwater, and is armed with Kalibr-LP missile systems, torpedo systems, anti-submarine, and warship missiles, and will get 4 platforms for launching 533 mm torpedoes, as well as 4 platforms for launching 650 mm torpedoes.
