Russia has started making two new diesel-electric Lada submarines, each with a length of about 66.8 m, a width of 7.1 m, and a water displacement rate of 1765 tons.

These submarines can operate away from their bases on missions that last for up to 45 days, and move at a speed of 21 knots. In addition, they are armed with six 533 mm torpedo launchers and are powered by diesel-electric engines that emit very low noise during movement, making them very difficult to detect by the enemy.

The second phase of sea trials of the Lada class “Kronstadt” submarine developed for the Russian army, scheduled for delivery to the Russian Navy this year, is already underway.
