Rostec reveals anti-sniper rifle

The “Polios” Institute of the Russian state company “Rostec” revealed at the “Army-2021” International Military-Technical Forum, the “Sosna-N” robot, which is designed to identify snipers.

A spokesman for the institute said that the “Sosna-N” is an automatic optical -laser device that can scan day and night the field around it to identify any aiming and/or designating optical devices, such as the aiming device installed on the sniper rifles, binoculars, or the aiming device which the anti-tank missile systems are equipped with.

Sosna-N does not only emit an alert signal, but also locate and confuse the sniper by using laser beams.

The robot can operate at a distance of 3,000 meters and weighs 4.6 kilograms. As for the control panel, it weighs only 1.1 kilograms.
