The US company Raytheon has lately revealed the development of an air-to-air missile called Peregrine.

The missile will be hypersonic, and the missile will be like the AIM 120 AMRAAM missile in range, but its size is half the size of the AMRAAM. Thus, the fighter plane will be able to carry a number of Peregrine missiles twice as many as AMRAAM missiles.

Its size will also double the payload on a variety of combat platforms. According to the manufacturer (Raytheon), the advanced miniature guidance system can detect and track targets at any time of the day and in any weather condition.

This missile will take advantage of US Army proven technology, additive manufacturing (or 3D printing) and readily available materials to provide an affordable solution to address current and emerging airborne threats.
