Raytheon and Northrop Grumman were awarded a contract to develop a hypersonic attack cruise missile (HACM) for the U.S. Air Force.
Under this contract, the Raytheon Missile & Defense Team in cooperation with Northrop Grumman will deliver operationally ready missiles to the U.S.
This hypersonic attack cruise missile is the first of its kind to be jointly developed by the South Cross Integrated Flight Research Experiment (SCIFIRE), an American-Australian project.
Raytheon Technologies and Northrop Grumman have been working together since 2019 to develop, produce and integrate Northrop Grumman’s scramjet engines with Raytheon’s hypersonic weapons.
