Italian Navy launches a new military vessel

Italy has launched a new PPA-class military ship developed for its navy.

The Multipurpose Offshore Patrol vessel is part of the renewal plan of the operational lines of the Italian Navy vessels, which included plans to acquire 7 new PPA ships.

The vessel is 143 meters long, 16.5 meters wide, has a displacement of 4,900 tons, can reach speeds up to 31 knots, can carry a crew of 173, and travel 5,000 nautical miles on each mission.

The ship will receive SYLVER A50 anti-aircraft missile systems, in addition to naval anti-aircraft missile systems, 76-mm cannons, 25-mm machine guns, and 324-mm torpedoes.
