Australia tests new weapons for warships

Australia has started testing some new weapons for its warships.

The Australian Army’s new Supply-class flagship military transport and logistics vessel has been equipped with CIWS (Phalanx) 20mm machine guns, and the ship’s crew tested the new armament.

According to Australian Navy experts, the new weapon systems will help the Supply ships deal with nearby enemy targets, protect them from guided missiles, and increase the possibilities of using these ships in military supply operations in various conditions.

The Australian Navy currently owns the “Supply” and “Stallwart” military supply ships.

Each one of these ships is 173.9 m long, 23 m wide, and has a water displacement rate of 19,500 tons.
