The history of civil defense in Dubai, has a long journey of heroic scenes and established stations in the brightest, most honorable and lofty pages of history, because it has embodied the values of sacrifices, loyalty to the homeland, wise leadership and willingness to sacrifice the soul for the safety of society and protecting it from the danger of fires and to affirm the high professionalism that reflects the nature of loyal men and their keenness to embrace everything that enhance the bold spirit that leads them to highlight their efforts and roles in protecting lives and property, even if it costs them to sacrifice their lives.
In a new attitude of courage and dedication, and as an extension of their global and exceptional successes, for example but not limited to (the Address Hotel fire incident on New Year’s Eve 2016), our firefighters presented a heroic epic that lasted 40 minutes, which was enough to dazzle the world. It reflected affirmation of the great cohesion between all work teams. The work teams in the Emirate of Dubai worked in great harmony to raise the status of the dear homeland and defend it, whatever the level of challenge, in order to confront the fire that resulted from an explosion in one of the containers on board a ship anchored in Jebel Ali Port
The secret of these successive and honorable successes in confronting fires and addressing all threats is due to the great development witnessed by the Dubai Civil Defense over the past years in all sectors in general, the firefighting and rescue sector in particular, which witnessed a great and important development in all domains, especially in focusing on qualifying human elements through the highest level of training, developing a response system, immediate response, and professionally managing incidents through a central operation room, and through a mobile operation room and a crisis and disaster vehicle, keeping pace with civil defense with the best modern technologies and employing artificial intelligence in its operations, which led to raising the security and safety index and the development of innovative solutions to achieve global leadership, thanks to the continuous support of our wise leadership.
The fire incident in Jebel Ali reflects the high spirit of the civil defense heroes and their concern for the safety of everyone, their speed of response, and their response to burning fires, and dealing professionally with the hot weather at this time of the year, which represented a state of challenge, as they were aware, thanks to their high professionalism and professional handling, they were facing a different tactic to confront the fire with patience, endurance, positive reaction and move according to the conditions required to control the fire amid a state of media and international anticipation for the Emirate of Dubai and civil defense men to present a new lesson in dealing with accidents efficiently and without any injuries, and then carrying out the cooling process that has not allowed the handling and operations in the international port to be affected, a new emphasis on great capabilities acquired through training, knowledge, science and experiences.
With pride, we raise the highest expressions of appreciation and gratitude to our wise leadership for its role in directing, following up and instilling morale in the hearts of loyal soldiers while responding to the accident in Jebel Ali Port. The appreciation extends to the Dubai Government Media Office and all other police agencies, strategic partners and the media that were keen to highlight the truth about the accident and the professional handling of work teams in such accidents.
