Egypt has solidified its position as a leader in unmanned aircraft technology, and now the country has expanded its capabilities into the maritime domain with the launch of its first unmanned boat, the B5 HYDRA. This new development marks a significant milestone as Egypt steps into the world of unmanned naval vehicles, further enhancing its defence capabilities.
The B5 HYDRA is the result of a collaboration between Amstone, an Egyptian S.A.E. founded in 2018, and international partners, including the Italian defence giant Leonardo Group and the Cypriot company Swarmly. The boat was developed entirely in Egypt in less than four months, showcasing the country’s growing technological expertise and the efficiency of its defence sector.
The B5 HYDRA is specifically designed for patrol missions and coastal security, making it an invaluable addition to Egypt’s naval fleet.
